The smartphone market is starting to have problems: Apple is more serious
From the shipment growth data sheet, the performance of the iPhone has always been lower than the entire smartphone industry.
The beauty of the iPhone is that Apple has created a unique product line that is more successful than any other series in the smartphone space. From the perspective of shipments, the iPhone can reach or exceed the scores achieved by most manufacturers in one year in just one quarter. It is precisely because of the extraordinary achievements of the iPhone and the popularity of the iPhone, the industry has always placed it on the entire smart phone industry, quite a taste of the enemy.
However, if we look at it from another perspective, the relationship between the iPhone and the entire smartphone industry is not "overriding" but "following". Wei Feng.com, Deutsche Bank analyst Sherri Scribner and her team produced a comparison chart showing the growth of the smartphone market vs. iPhone through the data provided by IDC. We can see from the curve of this comparison chart that the iPhone's growth rate is basically consistent with the entire smartphone market.
As the smartphone market began to shrink, Apple's problems were magnified. According to the comparison chart, when the growth rate of the smartphone market declines, Apple's decline is more obvious. By the fourth quarter of 2015, the iPhone's shipment growth rate was close to zero. We can also see from the comparison chart that the last peak of the iPhone was in the fourth quarter of 2014, when Apple just launched the big screen iPhone 6/6 Plus.
